Good pitch shifting plug
Re: Good pitch shifting plug
Sorry Sparklepuff,
I'm not sure what came over me:)
I just downloaded the demo of Guitar rig 3 and the component that seems like I'm searching for is the Oktaver. Except that it only generates 2 signals. One an octave below and one two octaves below which is useless to me since I'm playing a double bass. My bass already plays down to C1 I think somewhere around 32 hz so if I dropped it a couple octaves I could create some LFO's:) Is there another component like Okatver but will do the exact opposite? (1 and 2 octaves up?)
I also tried downloading ChoPitch from Matthias grob's website but Live 8 doesn't recognize it so far.

Re: Good pitch shifting plug
No no, not the Oktaver, the Pitch Pedal. It sits directly below the Oktaver in the Mod components.

Re: Good pitch shifting plug
I'm having hard times finding a 'good' one too. For me 'good' means
* sounds not too grainy
* very fast ( < 5ms latency would be great)
I use it live so it's hard doing really tight basses and synchopated stuff. I've even thought of using a hardware pedal, as the boss ones seem good. But then adding the delays to go in and out of the computer pretty much cancel that advantage out.
I've tried the grain delay pitch shifter, and a few free ones. None really cut it though. I'm willing to pay (but would like it less than £50.)
any ideas?

Re: Good pitch shifting plug
For those who speak about "Live itself" for pitchshifting, which device or algorithm are you speaking about ?
* Do you mean the "Transpose" tool on each audio clip ? But it seems that this "Tranpose" tool uses WARP and so there can be some issues (if the transient are not well put).
Is there a "Transpose" tool that would independant to the warp ?
* Or do you mean another Live device ?
Thanks

This should do the trick...
Some other nice freebies for both Win and Mac there too...

Re: Good pitch shifting plug
For me there is no comparison to the eventide pitch factor. Antares Harmony gets close but it has too much latency. Eventide is the holy grail of pitch shifting...
Re: Good pitch shifting plug
That's great you mention the Pitchfactor. I'm the OP from a couple years back and that's what I finally settled on. I love it.

I think ZPlane elastique is in 99% of DAWs I've used (because it's brilliant).
Here is a Video of the VST Version.

Re: Good pitch shifting plug
Eventide is definitely synonymous with pitch shifting. Their recent line of pedals seem to be getting good reviews. I have the Mod-Factor and really like it.gtodd876 wrote:That's great you mention the Pitchfactor. I'm the OP from a couple years back and that's what I finally settled on. I love it.
