hi
i know that one can use automation on the "device activator" in arrange view but there doesn't seem to be a way to do it in session view.
one person suggested using a instrument rack macro but that still didn't work.
for writing and mixing at home its fine to use the arrange page but when performing i use the session view (obvz).
i tried copying and pasting the arrange clip into a cell on a track and the envelope didn't copy.
i read somewhere that basically all of the internal ableton parameters can only be automated in the arrange view.
any way i hope you can help.
the reason i want to be able to do this by the way is because i use scenes most of the time and i want to kill plugins that aren't being used in that scene.
thanks!
Aron

Re: device on / activator automation in session view
• group the effect device into a rack
• right-click the effect's power switch > map to macro 1
• turn macro all way up (127)
• right click macro 1 > show modulation
• draw in the modulation
