PSP N20 causes all kinds of havoc with 8.2.2

PSP are aware and have a beta fix for the plug in. they sent it to me and it works fine and all issues resolved.

awesome.
thats good to hear. for you. truly.

on the other hand, for the Abes... it just further exposes the mountain of crap they have to wade over on a regular basis. one common plug, driver, script can reek havoc on countless end users before being discovered. still, its their fault... or at least they get the blame - "the new version wasn't ready grumble grumble"

i'm not a big fan of companies releasing a new version of their software every year. this is something that Ableton did for the first 8 years of their existence give or take a few months here and there. if a plug company makes a plug they test to see if it works with any given DAW (short list). On the flipside a DAW company has to release a DAW that works with all the current plugs (ridiculously long list).

you can thank or curse Steinberg for VST, depending on which view of the code you sit in front of.

Shit, got the "out of memory" error as well. Can´t open any project anymore, even with Live 8.2.1.

Is there already any fix??
Everything was working fine with 8.2.1 before, thaan i installed 8.2.2 and now i have this error message popping up. :evil:

I had several weird behavior from live 8.2.2

At first I thought I was responsible.
In fact it did not crash, I had to kill the task.

And lately I understood why... it remains gently amongst the running process, EVERYTIME.

Back to 8.2.1 for the sake of a live contest in two big weeks.
821 is not perfect but it shuts down at wish with no problem.

well it's time for report I guess :lol:

My GOODNESS I wish they would release an update for that thing already. It has been months and months since N2O came out, it has caused crashes in Live and other hosts since the day it was released, PSP acknowledged them months ago, and still no update. :?:

Virtualboy,

It's possible that your set requires a high amount of memory which exceeds Live's memory limit (2-3 GB on Windows and 4 GB on MacOS)"

What are your system specs? How much virtual memory are your sets using?

It's a well documented issue.

Since updating my system to Windows 7, i7, 6gb ram, I have never experienced this crash.

Oh, and 8.2.2 is working well for me.....so far. (fingers crossed)

Using Virus Ti with Virus Control and quite a few external plugs.

Google "3GB Switch" for XP Professional. It solved my problem... At first it killed my UAD card software but I added a "Userv = 2900" statement after the 3GB switch and now all working great with 8.2.2.

can you tell me the exact syntax you used for the switch. looks like there are different ways to do it.

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /3GB /Userva=2900 /noexecute=optin /fastdetect

stress testing now with two of the major 3rd party vst crashers omnisphere and superior drummer.
both seem to be working right now with no crashes. changing presets and loading programs so far without a crash. maybe it will work.

Cool. I have had no out of memory crashes (or any other crashes) since making the change in the boot.ini. Omnisphere working great as well as Reaktor with full sample maps.

Can be. I run windows 7 asus p5k motherboard with quad core and 4 gig dd2 ram.
But its strange that it only started to crash after 8.2.2
I also realize that its crashing more when i use granulator. i guess it eating alot of ram.
