"Sub-bass is a term used to describe audible sounds below 90 Hz and extending downward to include the lowest frequency humans can hear, typically 20 Hz."

Honestly, basses are some of the easiest and simplest sounds to create, so pretty much any decent synth will be great for them if you know what you're doing. Popular ones seem to be Massive, Trillian, Zebra2, and Omnisphere.

a few ms of a snare drum loaded into simpler works great
Re: Best synth for bass bases ?
nearly every synth with a filter can do basses.
i find myself using "ace" for synth basses and trilian or scrabee for electric or acoustic bass most of the time.

I'm loving Herr Doktor Heckmann's Tyrell N6 for bass at the moment.

Sounds amazing and its free.
But it causes the dreaded CPU spikes in Live. Fine in other hosts.

Those scarbee basses are really excellent if you actually play rather than program your bass parts.Saxer wrote:nearly every synth with a filter can do basses.

Nothing to see here - move along!
Re: Best synth for bass bases ?
if you don't own one learn on simpler using FX/instrument racks.
i wish I'd taught myself this way. Now a days I have a very expensive (CPU wise!) NI Massive habit.
80% of sounds are achievable in stacks of simplers though imo.
