Downgrade to Live 7.0.18 from Live 8.2.2

Post by LAgota » Tue Apr 19, 2011 3:39 pm

Is it possible to install Live 7 on my computer if I own a copy of Ableton 8.22 ?, or even downgrade my license with no extra cost?
Live 8 is really awfull in my macbook pro i7 2.66 4g ram (no comments  ), after several issues with performance I decided to downgrade to 7 who was much more stable, fast and reliable than 8 (i my case of course)
Thanks in advance.

You don't need to "downgrade"

All versions are independent, and upgrading will not void previously licensed versions.

The only issue is access to the old installer. It used to be the case that old versions were available through manual editing of URL's

but that has changed AFAIK and I'd recommend not deleting old Live installers, if you can spare the HD space.

Your v8 projects won't open in v7 as they changed the file format in v8.1.3.
