Making control devices...

Post by Computer Controlled » Wed Apr 20, 2011 5:15 am

I've been trying to make a simple control device for use with my JX-3P. When i save the device in M4L, the patch connection lines continue to show when viewed in Ableton. How do i get rid of these?

Here's an image of what i'm talking about.

Instead of a snarky RTFM comment ;-)

This is for Max; in max for live, it seems like shift-click to select cords is needed, and alt-click doesn't do anything:

"Option-click (Macintosh) or Alt-click (Macintosh) and drag to select the patch cords you want to hide or reveal and choose Hide on Lock from the Object menu. Any selected patch cords or objects will be invisible when the Patcher window is locked.
To reveal patch cords that are currently hidden on lock, select the patch cords and choose Show on Lock from the Object menu. Any selected patch cords will once again be visible when the Patcher window is locked."

Trouble is, when i use the "include in presentation" option on the control dials, the "patch cords" STILL show up in Ableton. I've tried this already. I've tried the Hide on Lock option also. Nothing i do works.

Hence my comment above; have you set the patch to "Open in presentation" mode ?
That was it! Thank you. I didn't know about that option =o]
