I've spent a while making this template for using the APC40 to control Reason's mixer, using Nico Wald's awesome free (mac) software Midipipe. It's a bit basic at present, but will come in handy if you have an APC40 and ever use Reason as a stand-alone program.
To use this you'll need to download Midipipe from http://web.mac.com/nicowald/SubtleSoft/MidiPipe.html
And then download my preset from http://dl.dropbox.com/u/20392878/Apc40% ... Mixer.mipi
After you've installed Midipipe:
- Open Reason, open Midipipe and load my preset
- Open Reason's preferences, naviagate to the Advanced Control tab and select Midipipe output 1 for one of the busses
-In Rack View, go to the Hardware device and click on the Adv. Midi Device.
-Select the relevant bus you assigned Midipipe output 1 to, go to channel 1 and select the input for Reason's 14 track mixer
You should be good to go! If this doesn't work, you'll need to check the inputs and outputs for each 'pipe' (there's one pipe per mixer function) and ensure that Midi in is set to APC40, and that Midi Out is set to Midipipe output 1.
At present you'll only have control over:
Mute 1-8
Solo 1-8
Fader 1-8
I plan on getting master fader, pans, sends etc working eventually, but at present I am a bit puzzled by some controller clashes (eg master fader conflicts with faders 1 and 6). If you manage to get these working yourself, please let me know!
