Why does my sound distort?
When using ableton sometimes when I do something like start to fiddle around with VST's the sound suddenly distorts even playing back audio will yeild horrible bit crushed sound.
In order to get the sound back to normal I have to go to Options --> Preferences --> Driver Type
I then have to change it from 'Asio' to 'No Audio' then back again for this problem to go. Then an hour later it will just happen again I have to do the same.
Im at a loss to know whether the problem is ableton, or the soundcard or the PC. To be honest I just bought a SCAN 3xs which claims to be glitch free and it pretty much is until I fiddle with something like a VST and then the soundcard seems to 'f*** up' until I essentially turn it off then on again...
Anybody know what I can do to try and dig deeper on this issue next time it happens?

Is this a laptop? What soundcard are you using? Have you tried the Asio4all drivers?

Re: Why does my sound distort?
Hi Tarakith + peeps,
So I tried using the fast track with asio4all drivers and the problem completely dissappears....So it would seem to me that the issue is the fast track drivers in this case. (And yea i did get the most up to date ones from the m-audio site).
I am going to try another soundcard reckon that should sort it. Will let you know though. Thanks once again for your help on this forum dude!
