I saw "EMINEM AND COLDPLAY HEADLINING LOLLAPALOOZA 2011!!!" and I was like "Oh man I just wasted $190."
Then I saw the rest of the lineup and my heart rate increased and I started sweating a bit. FUCK YES.

Hey OP, why don't you post this link in your post
http://lineup.lollapalooza.com/
(I swear the laziness of some people)
That lineup really shows my age because I don't know who the fuck most of those artists are. Dead to the scene at 38.

Bloody Beetroots is the only reason I would go.
I wish they would sell tickets separately for the DJ stage.

I met this chick at pretty lights on NYE and she was a cuddle puddle obviously under the influence lol. asked her where she was from she says southside chicago. Im like "oh yeah? i've been coming to parties up here since the early to mid 90s" she was like "uh i was born in 90" hahahahaha. I said just because i have been getting spun since you were in diapers doesnt make me old. it makes me experienced lmao.

Sounds like it didn't go well.
Southside does have better parties.
Loft parties down by Archer and Blue Line are always the tastiest. Especially if they're put on by Columbia students or grads.
I suppose I'd support Daedelus, and probly take a peek at Skrillex and see if I can keep an open mind, mostly because of the crowd.
I imagine that would be a fun crowd to fondle.
Otherwise Pitchfork has been better. Nothing seems to top Coachella though, line-up wise; or Sonar (Barcelona)
Palooza, though? Last best thing was Daft Punk a few years ago. It's for the birds now.

I still like checking out artists I’ve never heard but I can’t do it in a festival environment the older I get. The ones I actually end up liking are few and far between and part of the lack of enjoyment is looking around me and realizing I’m surrounded by kids, and by kids I mean anybody in their mid 20’s or below. It kind of makes me feel creepy.
I’m not completely out of the loop though. The last festival I went to was the Voodoo Festival in New Orleans this past Halloween. The main reason I went was to see Die Antwoord who was probably the newest kid on the block of the entire lineup. I also enjoyed Boyz Noize who is a fairly newish artist. There was also an R&B artist I really liked but I couldn’t tell you who it was and they weren’t any better or worse than any other Usher wannabe. I determined they put on a good show but it wasn’t anything I’d want to listen to at home. On the retro artist front I surprisingly enjoyed the Crystal Method DJ set.
But other than those performances, that leaves probably about 100 artists I wasn’t interested in, in a 3 day festival…new or old. Throw in being surrounded by kids, and meh. Drugs probably would have made it more tolerable but we didn’t have any.

Cee Lo Green, Atmosphere, Def Tones, A Perfect Circle, and Flogging Molly are all good reasons to go... but i must be getting old too... not because i haven't heard of so many of the ridiculously over-long list of acts, but because these kinds of festivals where you spend more time wandering around than you do listening to music... only to get the kind of sound quality you do when listening to some guy's over priced stereo 3 cars back at a red light when you finally do get to hear an act you came for - it just doesn't appeal to me any more.

furry boot raver chicks. ya i feel old. lol. had a kid ask me if i was a cop before he sold me some party favors . now i think they all do haha. if they only knew muahahahahaha. oh ya furry boots dont make you cool or hot. they make you a newb in my book lol.
Re: Lollapalooza 2011 Lineup.
They usually toss in some legacy artists in these festivals for us old fucks but even then I’m usually disappointed. I remember spending some time by the DJ tent at the Voodoo Festival and after several hours of ribcage crushing bass I wondered over to see Ozzy and it sounded like the sound guy hit the bass kill switch, but no, that’s just how Ozzy sounds and I couldn’t get past it so I left after a couple songs.
Re: Lollapalooza 2011 Lineup.
the reason you guys have not heard of a lot them is because there is a lot of filler.
its not because you are out of the loop.
my 19 year old sister has not heard of most of them.
i have only heard of about ten bands counting the four shit headliners.

I am so fucking OVER music festivals and large shows in general.
These days, if the exit isn't literally 15 paces away or less I fucking can't be bothered.
I'd go to a large venue if, say, Gabriel got back together with Genesis, but that's about it.
