Mapping MIDI CCs to controller (external hardware control)
OK, this is a little complicated, so please bear with me. I've sifted through 15 pages of search results but haven't found an answer yet, similar scenarios, but not what I'm looking for.
I have two MIDI Controllers, a korg nano control and a MAudio Oxygen 8
I send MIDI OUT to play external hardware (Nord Lead 2x (4 channels) DSI Mopho 1 Channel)
This is all set up and working fine, I arrange the clips I want to play based on the MIDI Channels they control. I can put program changes in the cips to change sounds from pattern to pattern. I can put automation in the clip envelopes to do things like Wobble or gate and so on. All that works how I want it to.
What I am looking for is a way to have the knobs on my oxygen, or even on my nanokontrol, control that CC data to different MIDI Channels.
(I also use FL Studio and this is very easy with the included MIDI OUT Plugin they have.. Each instance of MIDI OUT has it's own channel that it sends on and I set up knobs within the plugin to control specific CCs I then map those knobs to a hardware controller. Presto.)
So is there a way to set up an instrument rack and then map the macro controls to send CC 7 (for example) out through MIDI Channel 7 and map that macro control to one of my MIDI Controllers? (then repeat for different midi channels)
I'm looking to have control over a few CCs per MIDI Channel so I can map them to a hardware knob on one of my controllers for real time control of the hardware. I haven't found a solution yet.

thanks for the tip! I know about max for live, but currently don't own it. I don't know I want to spend the cash on something that should, IMO, be standard with a DAW
I do have reaper installed, so I'll look into that!

as far as program changes there is a field in each midi clip to select programs. Works fine on my end. Although that's on a per-pattern basis.

Thx subsynth. I did find that field and experimented with it, but I could not get any PC message outside Ableton.
I am using MIDI-OX tot monitor and route midi messages, and I have connected an POD X3 LIVE via a USB-to-midi cable. Works fine for all connections, but not from Ableton.

Here is my setup
I have 4 MIDI tracks, each set to send on a different channel.
So the first midi channel Sends on Channel 5, out of my MIDI interface.
You set this up in the i/o section of each track. MIDI OUT set to your Midi interface (in your case I guess it'd be the POD) and MIDI channel set to the channel that device is set to respond
I repeat this process for MIDI Channels 7,8,9.

Bump, the REAplugin didn't work, any ideas on how to control CCs going to external MIDI hardware and perhaps map them to a knob in a live device?
Or is this impossible without Max4Live?

Be warned though..when I tried to implement live midi control (i.e. with a controller) I experienced tons of lag. Perhaps you'll have better luck no?
