Anyone using Mobius over Ableton's Looper?
Anyone using Mobius over Ableton's Looper?
If so, hows it working for you? I'm using Win 7 so Mobius is my alternative (Super Looper be OSX). I've been using Ableton's looper, playing with my drummer but I've had some glitches. Not sure if its my comp, sound card, midi controller - Behringer FCB1010, that may be aiding in the glitches. Sometimes when disarming a track and switch via my controller to view/arm another, Ableton's screen will freeze - track level indicators will freeze, etc. Audio will continue but it may take up to 30 seconds for it to unfreeze and then I'll see the track indicators, etc. working again.
I have a newer Gateway NV laptop with Intel i5, my CPU usage as indicated in Ableton is pretty low usually. I'm using 8.1.1, no VSTS at the moment. I was using "Blinker" - a visual metronome but I think that was what was causing live to crash previously.
I'm wondering if using another software looper may be a better choice - though if I choose to use Mobius as a VST, I'm not sure if thats gonna cause Live to crash often.

Hi I never used Mobius but what I'm gonna tell you will be maybe better than any explenation. Yesterday I saw Adrian Belew in Concert (Solo performance). He had only his guitar and a big rig including a looper. The Looper Adrian used this night was the mobius and he used it with Ableton. Adrian is one of the most "looper" guitarist that I know so if he use this software I think you can trust Mobius as software looper.

Adrian Belew knows what it does for sure!
Sooperlooper is also a good alternative, and free.

i used mobius a great deal over the last few years. mostly with bidule and then with live 7 now it seems to crash live 8. i like the way mobius worked and thought it was better than lives looper. maybe one day third party plugings will work in live again.

SooperLooper has been great for me and I'm only now considering using Live's Looper.
SooperLooper and Mobius are both quite excellent.

Certainly crashes Live 8 I. haven't try it on 7 which means a downgrade of Live. Only if Mobius does what I want I'll go back to Live 7 which, by the way seems to be the most stable version of Live

8.2 was very stable for me. More so then the current 8.2.6 , or older 8.1ariajazz wrote:Certainly crashes Live 8 I. haven't try it on 7 which means a downgrade of Live. Only if Mobius does what I want I'll go back to Live 7 which, by the way seems to be the most stable version of Live

I use Mobius all the time with Ableton, for extended playing sessions. Freaking love that program. Never had a problem. Using Windows Vista though.
