I'm lost...

Post by T-Train » Fri Apr 29, 2011 2:41 am

When I make a m4l patch, for some reason, it shows the inner patchwork in the display when the device is on a track.

I don't get it...I get it all put together, get it arranged neatly in presentation view then I save it and the device shows all the patch chords.

What am I doing wrong?

also...why when I open up a blank max audio effect to start a new patch is there a "device vertical limit"? It has a line confining the workspace to only the size of the track view in ableton.

Hello.
You have to right-click in the patching area and select "open in presentation" before saving your patch.

I have spent most of last night trying to fix the same thing, just to add a little bit to this post the open in presentation option is found in the patch inspector. i was right clicking but not finding it, but a quick search in the help and bingo :D

Sweet! It works now. Thank you very much.

Now I'm just wondering why when I encapsulate a sub patch do the inlets and outlets show up outside it rather than disappear inside....

You should spend some time on the max tutorials, really. These are basic answers you're asking.
The tutorials are really fun, and you won't go far without understanding the basics.
