Vocal warping

Post by ukslice » Tue May 03, 2011 12:02 pm

I have been going over my old FL Studio tracks, exporting to midi and rebuilding in Ableton with fresher sounds and techniques. Amazing difference in the quality of the tracks.

Anyway, I had some vocals on the old tracks which I am dropping into Ableton version but the warping is causing me issues. I am going 10bpm faster on the new track so I need some sort of warping but does anyone have some tips as it seems to be spacing the vocals sligh;y differently to the original. Some parts are quicker, some slower. Just not fitting in how I would expect.

Thanks in advance

If the vocals were already in time withthe track, you may just need to get rid of all but the first warp marker. I'd try right clicking the marker either on ther first downbeat, or a bar before that and selecting "warp from here straight" or "warp from here(at xxx BPM)"

Hi,

You might want to try "complex" mode if you're not already doing so.

Good luck.
