which leads me to believe that it's a bug with live.
Or and bug with MPK´s windows driver, have you tried to use MPK´s with another DAW ? And I´m not saying that your bought the only computer that doesn´t work, only that are so many problems with HP DV Series that you can loose too much time trying to figure out just because are too many variables in the setup and every time you change something, the general behavior changes too...

Maybe MPK was not the problem, I have an MPK49 and works very well, on OSX and Windows.

Of course that can be a bug in Live too, but this you can test downgrading your Live´s version too.

I've been having the same problems, man. I've sent in about a thousand crash reports, contacted Ableton a few times about it, did what they said, and it's still crashing with 8.2.2. I tried it on 8.2.1 and it's still giving me trouble.

What I did find out, though, is that when the program stops responding, I can unplug the MPK25 and live will come back to life. Sadly, when I plug it back in, live doesn't recognize it until I restart the program.

This really sucks. I've tried a bunch of different settings, reinstalled the software that comes with it, I just don't know what to do about it. I just hope 8.2.3 has a fix for it, I guess.

sad, considering that is it supposed to be a device that works with liv; it even ships with a lite version of live. :/

Yeah... seems bit backwards. Hope an update will bring it up to speed.

hahaha - this thread is great. Its like Big Society bugfixing.

I'm pretty surprised that there are so many problems still. Been fine for me on OSX.

Davelton Mod? Now would be a good time to chip in and help the good folks in Windows-land.

Before I started using the Akai, Ableton worked fine.

I have sent the crash reports to Ableton and once again I haven't gotten a reply.

Any suggestions?
got a similar problem, sent in bug reports to the point where i can't bother to send them in anymore, because you never get a reply or a followup. it would be nice to know that they are aware of any potential problems and are working on it at the least.
When sending Crash Reports or Status Reports, attach it to an email and include information about the issue you are experiencing/what you were doing in Live at the time. If Ableton Support does not have this information, the reports are received as a general reference - sending a message along with the report will allow Ableton to create a case for you.

I was told in one of my cases (Case ableton552279) that the [email protected] was all automated (i.e. no one on the other end, just a computer grabbing the bug reports), should i send a copy of the bug report and a status report to [email protected] when it crashes again? I haven't yet sent in a status report yet, only bug reports.

I'm having the same problem, but it has nothing to do with the mpk apparently. I have an mpk88. But when I unplugged it and relaunched live, It still crashes after freezing. This has only happened in 8.2.2

Now when I tune my drum hits in the drum rack I built, it will freeze up. I have to Force Quit the Summa beach and unable to save anything. Then I have to send bug report. C'mon now.

That's right! It's up to us, Live's user base, to be responsible for fixing Ableton Live's instability issues. Didn't you all know this is a publicly tested program and that you have a responsibility here? That's why you spend so much money on Live, so you can have the honor of helping them to fix their mess. So buck up you whiners and start testing!

Well - doing the analysis att least.
Lets be thankful we cant access the source code - as we'd be doing the fixes too.

And AFAICT [email protected] is aliased to /dev/null
Nothing to see here - move along!
