Glitches on audio

Post by davejohnson10000 » Fri May 06, 2011 6:49 pm

Hi All,

I am a novice when it comes to Ableton, so please forgive me for asking what might seem to be very elementory questions.

I am putting toether a song in Ableton and really enjoying myself be I seem to be getting the same problem over & over again.

I find that some of the audio tracks have glitches/garbling on them. Foe instance I have a track where I am playing some audio file on. If I listen to the file in the file browser or open and empty Ableton project the file sounds good. However if I drop the track in a empty audio track in my some that has no effects on it the sound garbles almost like a flange of some knid. I even dropped the volume on all other tracks and I still have the same problem.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Dave

When you drop tracks straight onto audio tracks from the file browser, Ableton automatically warps the the audio to the global tempo of your project. The default warp setting is usually Beats, which with default warping usually fux up the sound. Try switching to complex.

Hi MisterMcGillicuddy,

Thanks for you reply.

I just tried whyat you suggested and it works a treat!

Just out of interest I noticed this same kind of thing happening when I moved a guitar from one part of the song to another withy exactly the same tempo unlessd I am mistaken. Could this fix this issue as well?

Anyway thanks as I couldn't see the point in doing any more until I got this sorted. It is apreciated :D :D :D

Dave.
