What nightmare? I haven't heard about this
Was flakey as hell in the early days - crashed lots and midi sync even worse then Live ;)

Truly a nightmare, just bought Virus Ti2 some weeks ago, totally unreliable and useless live in Live

Let the onslaught commence. :P
im right with you. and come to think of it; the arrangement view does exactly what i need it to do; sequence some clips / performances and spit them out as stems to dump into logic for further mixing. there - i like Live even more all the sudden.
I understand what you're coming from.. but $800 is a lot for just a sequencing tool. A lot of us poorer musicians want the one size fits all type thing. gigging, writing, recording, etc.
$800? Did I miss a price increase? And if that's the full price for Suite, you're not just getting a sequencing tool then. You're getting all the instruments etc.

However, I absolutely see the point you're making (at least I think I do) and I just think it would have been preferable all round for Live to either steer well clear of even being termed a DAW or implement it fully (or more fully than it has). Again, just an opinion.
Personally, I supplement Live with Reaper. It's good, it's solid, it's cheap, it works well for the traditional "tracking" stuff.

meanwhile... WTF Ableton! Over two weeks to deal with four lame bugfixes? No mention of 64bit support?

I'm surprised NI hasn't dropped Battery. Most developers make their drum libraries for Kontakt.

you people act like you really need this crap in order to make music. fuck that.
you dont need this watered down version of a watered down drum machine to make music.
you just want it because the jones have it. fuck the jones. you will never live up the the jones expectations.
you think this and a mac book air will make you up to par with the jones.. nope. you need this plus every line of mac plus an apogee interface plus genelics for surround just to live up to some one elses standard.
what do you need to make music.. one computer. one midi controller. a mic ( maybe) monitors ( you could use shit speakers if you would take the time to know them in and out) and a dog shit cheap interface.
you assholes do not need this crap. stop it. be a musician before a collector of musical fad crap.

if i dont have a fucking retarded ass machine how will i ever be able to make mediocre beats?
dumb asses.

I was about to get defensive reading this, then I sat with it a bit longer and whilst I don't think machine or |*insert any other piece of hardware*| is retarded I actually had a bit of a reality check reading your post.

I was lusting after some gear that I figured would make a difference when really I need to just stop procrastinating and get stuck in with what I've got. So I did exactly that last night and made some progress then posted a question up on Ableton answers!

The suite I have is pretty complete I guess is the short of it.

Anyway to get this back on track I do think N.I. are on the ball lately, producing some great sound packs, tools and hardware I thought Komplete Essentials was a great idea for new producers to get a lot of nice sounding stuff for very little money.
