Unable to load live set

Post by davehoax » Mon May 09, 2011 10:31 am

Hi there, I've been searching the forum for answers to this and hope someone can help or re direct me to the right place.

I created a set in 8.1, sent it to a friend to work on who was able to open it fine, but when it came to me opening the set, I received this message -

"An error ocurred while reading.... Apparently, the document was created by a more recent, and INCOMPATIBLE, version of Live than this.

[Unknown Compound Stream Type]"

I asked my friend to upgrade to 8.1 and got the same message after resending.

If I can't get any answers, I'll contact the support team directly, but thought I'd try here first.

Many thanks,

Dave

Are you by any chance working with Graham Acidic?

Just wondering...

What machine are you running Dave?

I assume Graham's still running his Vista laptop - are you on a Mac? Could it be a problem with plugin compatibility?

Graham explained the situation to me already and the error message didn't make sense really given that he was running an earlier version than you!

Yeah this is the weird thing, he was able to load my project up fine, but it doesn't work the other way around. I'm a Mac. it could well be the problem.

May just have to bounce stems down :[

I am now unable to load a live set from some time ago with 8.1.x thru 8.2.5. When I try to play the aiff files via the file browser I get a message stating: could not be read. It may be corrupt or not licensed. What kind of message is that? These are recorded samples from a Triton Studio at my buddies place for a track we were working on and I'm trying to load it up again. It may have originally been recorded with Live 7.x and I do not have any of those versions installed at this time (moved forward with newer versions, uninstalled older ones that I was not using and again, don't recall if it was on 7.x or 8.x at the time(could have been 8.0.x...file date is like 2008 datestamp).

Should I dig up an older version of Live and try loading it or send files to the abes to determine issue?

Thanks,

Mike

[Edit] Hmm, they may be corrupt because I couldn't even mess with permissions (Windows XP OS) as got error message. When trying to open a file it said I didn't have high enough priviledges....that's odd....hopefully my buddy still has this set he can re-send to me.
