i'm trying to recreate the Kraftwerk "Antenna" sound from Radio-Activity album,

at first i thought it was easy, but after a few time i noticed it's quite difficult to emulate digitally this particular sound, mostly because of the quality of the LFO.
I starting to feel that the only possible really effective approach will be the analog path. Or maybe recording a soft synth at double time, then speeding it up?
anyone have any ideas to accomplish this emulation, has close it can be?
