Cueing into headphones/outs in Ableton

Post by SelveS » Wed May 11, 2011 2:48 pm

I'm using Ableton 8 with an Audio 2 Dj two channel interface (A and B out.) I'm running the audio 2 DJ to an external two channel audio mixer. (A to channel 1 and B to channel 2.) I've also just tried running A to the mixer and B directly to headphones. What I'm trying to do is be able to play a track in Ableton and be able to cue another track in only the headphones or 2nd channel of the mixer. I know how to set the tracks for headphone cueing and have tried using A and B tracks in Ableton and use the crossfader. The problem is that no matter what I do, everything still comes through the mains, even if at a low volume. (I've tried EVERY combination of out sin Ableton.)

I guess what would help me is to know how the ableton outs (1/2, 3/4, and 1,2,3,4) relate to the A and B's of the Audio 2 DJ.

Thanks for your time,

Eric

are you familiar with the Direct Monitor feature of your sound card or if it has one?
