Help this rookie out to record a mix in ableton

Hey everyone!

I should start by warning you that I might be the biggest rookie on these forums and regarding ableton in general. With that said I'll start right away to tell you what my (probably really simple) problems are.

I'm doing a mix in ableton. I've dragged 10 songs in the arrange-window and managed to change the bpm, fade in, eq, filter et.c. I'm not doing anything live in this mix.

When I finished everything, I wanted to bounce it down of course (by that I mean getting it all in one wav file to put up on the net). But I have no idea how to do it! I tried just clicking the Global Recording button and just play the whole mix, but of course nothing got recorded.
I read on these forums about routing each track (they are all on separate channels) to the master and whatnot, but after some trial and error the tracks won't play anymore, meaning I can't hear anything. I suppose I've screwed up the outputs or something, since there wasn't any problem hearing the tracks before.

I guess there shouldn't be any problem for you guys to answer me;

How do I get the tracks to play again?
How do I record my mix?

Mind you, I've used logic before, but ableton is still a giant mystery to me so the simpler you answer, the better. I have no idea how to route to the master or...well, I haven't got a clue about anything basically.

I'm on a Macbook Pro, using Ableton Live 7, let me know if there's anything else you need to know in order to help me.

Everything you've said is explained pretty clearly in the manual. The twenty boring minutes it'll take to flick through it and read the basics is well worth it compared to the hours and hours of head-scratching and frustration you'll otherwise have.

When you say you've screwed up the outputs, do you mean that you've changed the actual routing of the channels? By default they should all output to the master channel. Assuming you haven't changed the routing, I'd assume that you've done something to move away from the arrangement view. Try clicking the "back to arrangement" button and see if the music starts coming through again.

In regards to actually bouncing it down, it's very very simple. Highlight the length of time you want (sometimes using the loop brace makes it easier), go to File then Export (if you're using a mac it'll probably be that crazy Apple looking button or whatever it is these days). You'll get a box with settings regarding audio quality / dither / etc. Check they're how you want, then click ok. Job done.
