whats your favorite skin?
whats your favorite skin?
i've been experimenting with different skins, and it seems to affect the way i write music. I used to use dark colors but switched to clouds and it had a more positive affect on my attitude than the midnight did. Now i'm onto "light blue" and loving it. in general I seem to have a better work flow with the lighter colors. or maybe i just smoke too much pot and think about pointless shit.
so what do you use? and does it affect your writing?
if this has already been a forum topic i'm sorry, but i don't need to get vibed about it from you.

I like that little piece of skin between the ass-hole and the vagina. I believe it's called a taint, or maybe a choad.

Re: whats your favorite skin?
I use the standard Ableton skin because it looks the same no matter which workstation I'm on.
But yeah if I can't get that then I'm voting choad.

I'm all about Oak, and I have to force myself not to spend too much time looking at the skins instead of making music when I'm high as fuck.
And here in Cali a choad is a stumpy dick. We call it the taint. A little regional language knowledge for ya.

lol. Nice. I'm from the East Coast so that's good to know. I won't be walking around Cali someday proudly proclaiming my choad. Thanks for that.

This thread is now Choad Chat
Re: whats your favorite skin?
This is an essential topic. I think we're gonna need to create an entire forum for this one!Warrior Bob wrote:This thread is now Choad Chat

To Bartend: I'm sorry dude. I honestly didn't mean to hijack your thread. But god knows I smoke too much pot and ponder point-less shit pretty much exclusively. That said: I wonder if Thom Yorke ever thinks of cloning himself so that the next generation can have a Jesus Christ.

Back on topic, Bartend actually brought up a good point: is there any wisdom in using certain colors for certain projects? I wonder if it'd affect the intangible things like "inspiration." Does anyone know of any research or evidence that exists about this?

Re: whats your favorite skin?
Frost 85% , Default 6 15% of the time
Re: whats your favorite skin?
That is a valid thing to consider. Personally, I have flipped thru all the skins on a few occasions and they all seem kinda dark and depressing. I think I've been using Frost. Atmosphere and surroundings most definitely affect one's mood so I'd say, yes, different skins could cause different reactions in different people. Maybe try and experiment. Make a track using each skin and then listen to the mood that track conveys. ???Warrior Bob wrote:Back on topic, Bartend actually brought up a good point: is there any wisdom in using certain colors for certain projects? I tried creating some tracks with different skins. I can hear the differences but I'm not sure if other people could. I did switch to calcium anyway.
