Well I can't say anything about build quality on the OHM, but price alone the APC is half the price.

For someone new to music creation like myself, the APC works very well in that alot of things are pre configured and really match up with Ableton well.

Example, I open up Operator and the 8 device encoders all are set for the first OSC. Hold shift, and hit the the second button under the encoders ("Device On/Off", it has a 2 next to it) and it jumps to the second OSC and so on. So from what looks like only 8 encoders for a device, it's actually 32. And of course you could configure these to your hearts desire.

Edit: Actually, there's 8 banks for 64 options pre configured. http://www.ableton.com/pages/2009/apc_4 ... ce_control

The OHM may be just like this, someone who has used it can chime in. But speaking for someone who is very new to Ableton, the APC40 really expands what I can do, and quickly.

What do you mean you cant say anything about the build quality on the OHM64? I have heard its studio quality but maybe i am wrong :D. I like how you can customize the OHM64 very much and you can map out every button, know and fadder to.

I mean I can't comment if it's built well, sturdy and what have you. I've never used one before.
