A friend of mine has the Yamaha MIDI guitar. I thought it was quite cool and fun to play, but it didn’t make my purchase list. I have to draw the line somewhere.

There's a rumor OSX Lion might be released this weekend. 8O

If that's true then I'll be upgrading to Lion 6 months from this weekend. :P :x

Yo all,
Is anyone noticing on their iPad 2, a very subtle 'off-white' around the long edges of the screen? It's so subtle I can't even tell if I'm imagining it or not. On dark or complex images it looks fine, but pure white (like on google) seems so very slightly 'off' at the edge.

Or maybe it's a natural eye-trick when the strong black and White meet?

OK iPad fans a few questions:

I'm seriously thinking of picking up a used 1st generation off craigslist and selling my Mackie Control.
I use the Mackie Control almost exclusively for the motorized faders with track names above them. There seem to be a few options for this, which is the quickest to set up?

For live faders and clip firing there looks to be a few programs, which one requires the least amount of set up? <- I'm vastly interested in cutting set up time down to as little as possible in a live situation.

Again for live track faders and clip firing is there any real reason right away to get the camera attachment and plug it into the macbook pro? or is blue tooth / wifi good enough?

Any users with a 1st generation and Korgs MS-20? Does the MS-20 almost cripple the device or is it sufficient? <-- this isn't as important, just curious.

Seek professional help and switch medications. It's a magical device. It does not falter. :D

I'd have to recommend touchAble as the all-around controller for Live. It's got everything - faders, keys, pads, XYZ pads, etc. It gets up and running very quickly with very little fuss.

There's not a motorized fader type function with touchAble - or any other controller app that I'm aware of.. What you can get instead is an app called KapturePad; which will allow you to save pretty much any parameter in your set with a series of snapshots.

I'm sure it won't be long until a similar feature is part of touchAble.

touchAble and KapturePad are both wifi only, so you won't need the CCK.

You'll have no issues with the iMS-20. It runs perfectly well on the 1st gen.

I miss MW on this forum who would frequently accuse me of being a racially insensitive politically ignorant isolationist prick, and given my retorts I can't say I blame him. But things are different now. I was never that person to begin with and this forum now offers me little reason to display that shock value. I hope we're cool now.

LSZ is THE iOS MIDI authority, not just on this forum but in the entire civilized world. His word is gospel on the subject. You're in good hands.

Ironically just this past week I was thinking about unboxing my Mackie controller and bringing it back into the fold because I like the tactile functionality. As much of an iPad humper as I am I never warmed up to the controller apps because of stablility issues. If it acts funny or disconnects more than twice then I'm done. But I give up very easily and it was many, many months ago that I gave up. I'm sure things are much improved now.

Happy Birthday, iPad thread. 1 year ago today you were born and who knew you'd grow so fast?

Who knew that you'd be the Flagship Thread for The Lounge?

Even the naysayers love you.

Just like the iPad itself.

So...happy B-Day, broham.

May you have many more.

Proud I could be part of your greatness with my 20 or so posts, give or take.

So how well does the KapturePad app run. I've read some pretty lame reviews that put me off purchasing it.
Looks really good, and I want to hear some feedback from people around here. The M4L version works a treat. :)

touchAble is everything I had dreamed it would be.
