Operator!
Operator!
I just tried out Bram's s(M)excoscope from smartelectronics for some oscillator things in Bidule and then why don't inspect the wave forms from Operator with it?
Yes, no problem loading the plug. Nice waves.
But the thing that struck me: The Operator sounds soo good!
I have this "RYTHMIC Tight Beat" preset going with some reverb, and it's just beautiful.
Selling an apartement right now, I feel strongly encourage to pay for the Operator when Live 5 is lauched.

Funny, the smiley came from the "8" in 13:28...In his misery, Job said, Man decays like a rotten thing, like a garment that is moth-eaten" (Job 13:28). Extra garments stored away deteriorate. This is partly due to moth larvae eating holes in them.

If you like Operator I have some good news for you:
Live 5 brings some little enhancements:
- fixed freqency can go down to 0 Hz, allowing to use an oscillator as waveshaper
- oscillators have six new wave forms:
4 bit sine for the game boy lovers
8 bit sine for the synclavier II freaks
ramp 64 and square 64 for brighter "analog" waveforms
digital ramp and digital square for the max/msp/Csound digital purists.
- the lfo got a beat sync mode.
- the lfo now can modulate also the filter frequency. Yes, finally
- the voice stealing algorithm has been improved which will avoid clicks on some sounds and will save some CPU on others.
As I said before, everyone who bought Operator and is upgrading from Live 4 to Live 5 will automatically get the new version. Everyone who is upgrading to Live 5 and did not buy Operator can at least use the new features to create some nice sounds and re-record the result into Live.
Best, Robert Henke / Ableton
