I've recently started using the guitar line in on my old school M-Audio fast track USB for recording guitar tracks. The problem is, I can't seem to get a decent guitar recording without either:
a) a noticeable bleed of the rest of the track on the guitar track.
or
b) a fair amount of buzz once i put the clean recording through Guitar Rig etc.
I should perhaps point out that the fast track is also being used for playback through a stereo set up. I've tried using heaphones to cut out the potential for the playback being picked up, but even at the lowest audible level I can still hear audio bleed on the guitar track. If I record with no audible playback of the other tracks, no problem, but that makes it a bit difficult to know what I'm playing along to! I figured it might be due to the fast track, if so is it simple a case of buying a newer audio interface? I doubt it's down to the guitar (fender jaguar) which was recently serviced and it's not as if I'm even using a mic to record from an amp.
Help, I just want the background bleed to go away!
Cheers.
