Midi map sustain pedal to "overdub"?

Hi,

I have a dirt cheap sustain pedal connected to my Novation Remote SL 25 MK2 controller. How can I map the pedal to the overdub button? I tried midi mapping it as usual (entere midi mapping mode, click on overdub button, step on sustain pedal), but no mapping takes place. What am I doing wrong?

In case it matters, I am using Live 8.21

Do you have remote turned on in the midi prefs?....

Did you check if the pedal actually works?

Thanks for the hint, Dragonbreath. The problem was indeed that I had not enabled the "remote" setting.
