How can I use live as a digital drum set.I play a digital yamaha kit.I have been just running the audio into live for rehearsal and recording.
I have used my digital kit to trigger sounds in live, but I would love to use live as my drums. Is there a way I can get the responsiveness, sensitivity, and dynamics that a drummer requires?
I have used drum racks and set up some percussion sounds from sources like magazine disks, and sounds included with live 8. But it all lacks the delicate responsiveness I need.
Thanks!

Re: live for a live drummer??
it is all in the sample set and implementation of the samples for the different velocity layers.
for realistic kits live is totally capable and strong sample sets may exist in the session drums add on (which i don't have so i don't know)
their are a few kits in battery that i like allot when i play my drumkat
i have been looking at the toontrack stuff for a long time but i have been broke for a long time too..
ones to check out are addictive drum, toontrack, bfd, battery, maybe session drums.
what about your module for your kit?
is it not working out?
nice thing about using an outboard module is it wont be a big cpu hit and you can still processes the audio in live if needed.

Re: live for a live drummer??
Do the products you mention work within live?
My outboard sound is o.k, but very very limited compared to live. I would like to record all drums onto separate tracks, and apply lives effects to individual sounds. I can only treat the audio as a whole using the audio from my yamaha kit.
Thanks for the input
