Asio4all vs Fireface 400

Hi All,

I was wondering if anybody knows if using Asio4all uses more CPU power than using a regular fireface 400. Reason I ask is becasue I don't want to lug around my fireface outside when making beats in the park or whatever.

Shouldn't be that big of a difference even if there is one.

Asio will surely help your fireface running better.

But if you have a specific asio driver for your card, use it rather than asio4all.
don't know about cpu, like tarekith said it's quite the same.

I only hear audio glitches with asio when I use the onboard soundchip, with a firewire soundcard it runs great through ASIO

Let me clarify, I was asking about using the onboard soundcard with asio4all vs the RME Fireface. This is just for when I don't want to lug my Fireface around with me.

If you're just out and about making music, it's not like you have to have the latency cranked way down either, setting it at 256 or 512 samples will likely ease things up too. Honestly, I don't think it's something you need to worry about, but it's not like you can't try out it real quick and find out for either.

When you ARE using the Fireface, I'd definitely use the RME drivers over asio4all though. Asio4all is usually good for people who are having issues with their native soundcard drivers, and RME's are some of th best out there.
