Unwanted distortion - time for a new PC?

Hi when recording vocal tracks - vocals get very ugly and distorted.. Gets worse with more vocal tracks.


I've got Intel 2 CPU 2.4GHz and 2GB RAM running live 8.2. Am using Line 6 UX2 external sound card for Mics (Rode NT1-A)

Any suggestions?
