Multi-Sampling Workflow

Post by X_Soda » Fri May 27, 2011 4:36 pm

Let's say I have 7 samples, each a different note/sound, and I want to add the same Sampler parameters to each of them. My natural inclination is to create a multi-sampler Sampler instrument. I would do a drum rack, but the "Copy to Siblings" workflow doesn't work for things like LFOs and envelope curves, which are a crucial part of this particular sound design. My problem in Sampler, however, is that I don't seem to have the ability to trigger the notes individually. Either a key will trigger all of the samples at once, or, if I distribute it across the keyboard, the note value of the sample will change according to what key I am pressing. I want to keep the original pitch of all of my samples but still be able to play them sequentially on the keyboard. Any solutions?

Okay, I think I just answered my own question. I set the scale value to 0%. However, I've got some Oscillator features on my samples, and it sounds like the oscillator is still being modified as I change keys! Is this an unavoidable glitch, or is there something I can do about that?

Hi,

The Oscillator mode can be set to "Fixed". In this case the frequency of the oscillator will not be scaled across the keyboard at all.

Thanks, man! That little button totally slipped past me. One final question: is there a quick way to distribute samples across the keyboard by 1 key? For example, if I have 7 samples and want them to be distributed from C-F#, is there a shortcut to doing that, or do I have to draw everything in on the key map?
