One of my biggest gripes about the MIDI editor is the need to stretch windows out all over the place to actually see what I'm doing. In Adobe AfterEffects, the "`" (tilde I think?) automagically maximizes whatever window the mouse is currently over. When you're done with your task in the bigger window, hit "`" again and all windows return to the previous layout.
This would not only work in the MIDI/audio editor, but also the mixer/browser/arrangement view/etc.
