How to duplicate part of an audio track into the same track?

Hi everyone,

I've been using ableton to make minimal techno for about 2 months, and because I record custom snares and hi hats with my microphone (using coins, fabrics etc) I need to be able to manipulate the sounds that i put into audio tracks on ableton.

Unfortunately, I am having so much trouble handling my files: for example, there a 32 bar segment that I warped to a 1/4 bar segment, and I want to add maybe 3 or 4 other sounds on that same track and loop it, but there is no copy paste option. anyone know a way around this?

select the material and Ctrl C to copy and Ctrl V to paste.. to better select the region you want copied you need to expand the track (little arrow facing right just to the left of your track name - then you can select the materail from the bottom up...

if you want to add stuff to a audio file or loop, use 3 tracks. one with your custom loop, one with the new material and one that you can record the two to. send the audio from the two tracks to the third track to record. make sure that the little red button is on on the third track.
