Hey everyone,
For some reason, whenever I add a reverb to an instrument (or even to a return track) no matter what instrument I'm using (synth, drums, bass etc.) I get a nasty cracking noise at the beginning of each note or sound that's played. I've messed around with all of the knobs but can't get rid of the cracking noise. Any suggestions?
thanks a million.

Re: Reverb cracking?
An additional note, I'm using a simple sine wave operator, and the cracking seems to be coming from the high end. I've got the dry/wet all the way up on the reverb and I've got the reverb set to high quality. It's a real bugger trying to figure this out on my own, lol.
thanks again.
thanks again.
Re: Reverb cracking?
Sounds like the reverb is taking to much processor time. Check your audio buffer size, Options > Preferences > Audio. When using ASIO (which is always preferable) you can increase the buffer size in the soundcard's asio driver settings.

Re: Reverb cracking?
I'm using a Macbook Pro 15" and I've been using the CoreAudio Driver; do you think I really need to switch to an ASIO driver? I can if needed. I've got a Mac-Compatible ASIO Driver downloaded but I haven't installed it yet. I tried bringing my buffer size up (within Ableton's preferences, still using CoreAudio), and I tried taking it down as well but the popping noise remains the same throughout.
I'm 100% that it's not my headphones or my speaker system, but none the less, I'm still having the same trouble with the cracking/popping noise when using reverb. It mostly occurs when added to a MIDI track, and I've mucked around with every parameter in the Reverb and still haven't had any luck.
If anyone could figure this out for me or shoot some ideas my way regarding this it would be much appreciated! I can't really do anything with the tracks I'm writing if I can't get my effects to stop being little buggers.
Thanks again!
