Re: help decipher this kick.
He layers a few kicks together (acoustic ones with 909's i guess, like everyone else)), and put a massive low sinewave underneath, and then sidechain everything heavy against it. Thats "all" really.. but then it goes thru a nice master-chain, to really sqeeze it all together. Love this sound still.

so most of these kicks that comes from this guy, isnt really an 808 on the low end its a sinewave huh. think sinewaves low end kick makes it sound better than 808?steffensen wrote:He layers a few kicks together (acoustic ones with 909's i guess, like everyone else)), and put a massive low sinewave underneath, and then sidechain everything heavy against it. Re: help decipher this kick.
A 808 is mainly a sine..so...
Its easier to just use a synth's sine directly instead, easier to know what note your playing, and control its ADSR etc.

Great!scutheotaku wrote:Here's a Live Set I just made with a general approximation of what you're looking for. It's the technique that's standard with a lot of Ed Banger stuff. But yeah, this isn't exact but it will give you a good starting point.

There's actually a couple of samples needed (that're missing) for that project (909ft_t0_a0_d100.wav and drumu bass drm.wav). Do you think that you could perhaps post them as well? Please!
