making amen style drumstep in ableton ?

Post by meggymoo7 » Tue Jun 07, 2011 1:59 pm

to who ever gives a fuck about this !!!!!!!!!!!
I'm trying to make amen style drumstep with ableton. well program drums in the amen fashion to drumstep !!everything i have heard has not captured this yet .....thats why im trying to do it but its been 2 months of dabbling here and there and i just cant get it to have that rolling effect anf im starting to wonder if its mathamatically just not possible considering the placement of the snare and kick ,however it still remains two step and i think if it cant be done by simply shifting everything in accordance with the kick and snare from a an amens d&b break ,hi-hat,snare,light snare, right left side hits cymbal crash ,shuffle, ect, ect. that maybe i can cheat it somehow??????

any ideas  are welcome unless there fuckin retarded thanks. :!:

ya kind of accept that example track the break does not encompass that rolling pitch-step-shift that the amen break has im thinking that its not going to be traditional programming like i said before simply shifting everything over in acordance with where the snare is

I am guessing moving the hits about on a warped wav of the amen break doesn't work. Slice to transients and resequence on that micro level? I am feeling that the amen break would have to be thinned out to work well.

^ that.

i'm guessing that you're trying to pencil it in. if so, it'll probably never happen. even with your grid set to 32nds you still can't really account for overlapping hits and fills etc.
