This is about as off topic as it gets but hey its the lounge.
Which of these cars would you buy?
The price range is 1000-2000 euro. All are automatics. That, quite literally, is how I roll.
You can vote for up to 3 in the poll.

1998 Opel Astra
1.4
3 door
66,000 miles
OK condition

2000 Nissan Almera ("Sports" -with Sunroof, fog lamps)
1.6
4 door
70,000 miles
Good condition

1999 Mercedez A160
1.6
5 door
78,000 miles
Very good condition

2001 Ford Focus
1.6
5 door
110,000 miles
good condition

1999 Golf
1.6
5 door
110,000 miles
good condition but horrible blue colour

2000 Honda HRV
1.6
3 door
115,000 miles
good condition

I like the Astra but I would really prefer the 5 door model. I know the Almera is a great car but I find it a bit boring. Maybe I need to get some sense and go for the safe option. I'm not sure about the A160. Is it a womans car? I actually really like the look of it, though they are quite small. Focus is probably top of my list for now, despite the big mileage. 5 door Focus ticks a lot of boxes. Golf - I love Golfs but the blue is horrible. I love the look of HRVs but are they a good car? I've no idea.

If the Focus had lower mileage it would be my choice, but the Almera is probably the sensible choice, and they can look quite nice with the sunroof and fog lights and nice alloys, but no spoiler.

Agreed on the Astra - 5 door much better than 3.
Those Mercs are lovely little cars but I couldn't bring myself to buying one. They're tiny. I love HRVs but they're probably not very fuel efficient, if you're on a budget.

The Honda will keep going longer than the rest of them.

3 votes for the Merc already, and a heads up for the HRV. I didn't think anyone would like the Merc because it is a little bit feminine.

My friend described the HR-V as "hormone replacement vehicle", but I don't see anything girly about them to be honest.

Maybe I need to resolve my issues surrounding my sexuality

Dude if you like a car and it fits the bill, who cares what other people say?
I drive a coupe and people say its a bit small and girly, but its really fast and fun and I like it.

I've an Astra and the engine control unit went on it, been off the road nearly 3 months. Big fucking  and it's a common fault with them so the replacement is not easily found in scrapyards because they've been gotten to. e750 for a new one. I got a scrap one and now another connecting doodad is fucked.

My advice would be a horse and bus fare for the family

Can't comment on any of your gender identity issues, I drive a Mazda MX5!

Astra, Almera great cars? I guess you actually do not like cars or not interested. Get the Merc then or VW (boring but you dont like cars anyway). Had second hand VW Passat Kombi once, in 2 years no any repairs, economical, easy to fit all stage gear, sold it for same money I bought but hated this boring sh... every single days. Well, that is my problem, I like driving and love good cars, VW are nothing for automobile fans. Japanese new are OK but not used- spares are expensive, for secondhand you cant go wrong with VW or Mercedes.
