launchpad has died
Re: launchpad has died
i'm not sure what happened to mine.. i was trying to use it with some usb hubs (unsuccessfully) and then when i tried it directly into my laptop again it was totally dead. maybe the usb hub fried it or something like a power surge? but i dont really know. all i know is that its not responding in any computer i put it in. Novation support won't hit me back. even if they aren't going to do anything it would be nice to hear it from them. I've seen alot of negative comments on here about m audio, but they have a stellar customer service department and so does korg. Novation makes cool controllers but so far i've been a little dissapointed in the customer service side. i guess i'll start thinking about getting a new one,, maybe switch to the apc 20, but i'm not starting another thread on here asking people "which is better" lol.....
by the way, i use a macbook aluminum 2.4 Ghz intel core 2 duo processor
2 Gb memory
maybe my computer couldn't handle it with my new fast track ultra audio interface,
thats really the only new thing i got. do their drivers conflict? even if they do, you'd think top buttons on the launchpad would still light up.

Re: launchpad has died
well after 4 days i have heard nothing from novation. so its officially got the weakest customer service i've ever dealt with. that includes everything from cable companies to restaurants. I hope i never see anyone talk down M-Audio on here again. atleast they back their products.

You should have called them. I'm in the USA as well and the LA tech support for Novation is super friendly and cool, I had warranty work done on my keyboard, then when it went out after warranty for seemingly different reasons I called them up and they decided to cover it anyway. They also sent me a new tip for my Remote SL joystick when mine was lost in a move. Don't bother emailing any audio related tech support and expect a return every time in less that 5 days, they get swamped occasionally.bartend7 wrote:well after 4 days i have heard nothing from novation. so its officially got the weakest customer service i've ever dealt with. that includes everything from cable companies to restaurants. Oh yeah, and M-Audio suck ass, they make shitty gear. Them and Bheringer have one or two gems in the shit pile, but it's basically pure luck.

Try plugging your USB Hub into an outlet, but Not connected to a computer. When you connect your launchpad, and wait a minute or two, does it light up at all?

tried it
but nothin
also tried the new launchpads cord with the old unit, and nothing. so its not a cord issue, it must be internal.

R.I.P. Launchpad
Re: launchpad has died
I received a new launchpad today. I want to apologize to Novation, for any negative comments i have made on this thread. The company did eventually make good on their warranty. It took a little bit, but after a month i received a replacement. Thank you novation.
