WHere is my library of midi sounds and stuff?

I go to add an instrument and there is nothing in the library. What do I do? It goes on about some "hotswap" thingo. Oh man I should just write boring acoustic songs eh! hahah
But seriously it is very frustrating.
Anyone?

are you confused by file system navigation? clicking on the little triangle/arrows next to any instrument type in your library (found in the folder icons of the upper left corner of the ableton window) should unfold all the sounds available for that instrument.
