Re: Best Sounding DAW
Live is not a DAW, it's a DAP--digital audio playstation. Workstations are for a-holes who think they're more important than they actually are.
Re: Best Sounding DAW
probably because of the change of environment.fisto wrote:why is it that my first mix in reaper sounded way better than my mixing in live after 2 years
for composition Live will always be my choice.
however,i find mixing in Reaper a more enjoyable and comfortable experience than mixing in Live.
when i am enjoying myself more and feel more comfortable i produce better work - my music sounds better.
it's nothing to do with sound engines or whatever, it's down to your abilities and using what works for you.

Spend more time in your DAW of choice and less time shit talking on other DAWs and your music will sound better regardless.
Doesn't matter which damn DAW you use, a bad song is going to sound bad in every DAW. There is no magic DAW that takes your sound to the next level. Skill and experience does that. Any one that says otherwise is just defending their favorite DAW. They all have their own sound and none of which should be considered "best" because that is a situational and subjective concept.
The program you decide to use is as much a personal preference as the genre of music you choose to play. Now keep your preferences to yourself, please.
And by no means am I defending ableton I'm just saying that this kind of topic is as simplistic and irrational as a grade school argument over the best flavor of oreos...
thats the point!

Holy shit, I gotta reevaluate everything now...

You may say it's off topic, but...

First check out their gear and then their "Songs we wrote/produced"... Maybe their sound is "pro", but their music sucks (and they seem haven't noticed it yet).
The point is that shitty music will always be shitty regardles tools used to create it... No matter if it's DAW or SSL G4000 desk with analogue outboard gear.
Greetings.

Can you believe these people..for christ sake...MUSIC WAS MEANT FOR EARS!!!!!scutheotaku wrote:I know what you're saying, but still ears are easily fooled. For example, as is commonly known, increased volume can make something sound drastically better. Mental bias can do this too.fisto wrote:yeah.
Just wanna add that no phase cancelation will ever proove to me what sounds better.
Do you (general you) know what tool is the most important when working with audio?
Gueas what. The ear.
Cake was made for eating and so on. If you increase something and it sounds drastically better what more could you want.

Re: Best Sounding DAW
What you're still not understanding is that your (specific) perception of how one DAW sounds different than another is based on many things that may include your own physiology as well as psychological and psychoacoustic factors. It is altogether plausible that the reason that you hear a difference has absolutely nothing to do with any specific DAW and everything to do with you and your environment (physical and psychological).evon wrote:Can you believe these people..for christ sake...MUSIC WAS MEANT FOR EARS!!!!!

So if one sounds better than the other (to you) then go for it. The proliferation of organized religions throughout the ages proves that human beings often have a need to believe in things that exist only in their minds. It's ok, you're only human. Use what you like.

the comment about "organized religions" has nothing to do with human perception

Yeah, I thought he was trolling, but have come to realise that he's actually just as thick as two short planks. We'll never win...

Re: Best Sounding DAW
The analogy wasn't related to the component of perception, but rather the component of similar psychological factors involved in how humans hold convictions about things they cannot prove scientifically. Sorry if that wasn't clear.3dot... wrote:the comment about "organized religions" has nothing to do with human perception

So therefore..are you saying that you disagree with me..music was not meant for ears. It was meant for scientific analysis.
And you think that everyone that reads this is a fool like you ass holes.
I haven't seen you disagreeing scientifically. You disagree like religious fanatics you accuse others of being. You all kiss up to one another like some little pussies.

A set of ass holes can never make wrong right. It should be easy to analyze the saying of a fool and systematically dismiss his argument once and for all.
Can any one of you show that you have done that.

If you're drawing this conclusion based on what I wrote, then you're either not being serious or you have some other issues (i.e. language barrier, lack of maturity, personality disorder, etc.).evon wrote:So therefore..are you saying that you disagree with me..music was not meant for ears. You seem to be getting upset over this topic. I can't imagine why discussing DAWs would illicit such a reaction from any psychologically stable human being.evon wrote:And you think that everyone that reads this is a fool like you ass holes.

Tell me: Which is the best tasting cake, and I will then tell you which is the best sounding DAW
