Complete Noob

Post by DasBeats » Tue Jun 14, 2011 8:08 pm

So I'm completely new to everything and anything in music production. Right now all I am armed with is a Macbook Air, Ableton, and my creativity.
Is there any way for me to get started making tracks without a physical midi controller? Like I know that garage band has a built in keyboard. Does ableton provide that? Also where is a good place to get samples?

no, you don't need a MIDI controller.

^nice one.

you can also use the z and x keys on your keyboard to adjust the velocity of the notes you're playing. I think c and v do something as well but I don't recall.
