render or record all tracks at once, any idea?
render or record all tracks at once, any idea?
hi,
maybe someone got a tip for me.
when i finish a song i often like to render every track and work with the tracks in logic. now this can be a long time operation. is there a trick how i can render all tracks at once? i thought of jack os x and route every track direct into logic... anyone tried this? any othe ideas?
thanks and cheers!

If you're using Logic 7 simply rewire Live into Logic, and choose Export -> All Tracks As Audio Files. Even works offline.evs wrote:hi,

the problem i think with rewire is, that i cannot have any plug-ins open in live when it is a rewire slave... (or can logic be the slave with version 7?)

You can have Live plug-ins opne, but not AU or VSTs. You can open AUs on the corresponding Logic tracks, though.evs wrote:the problem i think with rewire is, that i cannot have any plug-ins open in live when it is a rewire slave... (or can logic be the slave with version 7?)
Logic can only be a Rewire master.

hm, so this is not working for me. i often have a lot of automation on au or vst effects in ableton. but thank you.
anyone tried jackosx for this purpose?

Make a track for every track and every return, set inputs appropriately, record arm, record, pray your cpu usage is not too high.
Personally tho' i record only the tracks/returns with VST's/AU's on them and then rewire all into protools (logic in your case)
Best of luck

Great! VERY good hint! i don´t know why i did not thought of that myself, but the most times the best tips are the easy ones. thanks very much! i will try it
(by the way, whats the reason that you rewire all into pro tools and not just take the audio files and import them into pro tools?)
