Focus device in drum racks...?
I can get the blue hand on a device by sending "call selected_device id N" to the path "live_set view" but I am not sure how to get it in focus?
Re: Focus device in drum racks...?
Can you find the path of the bluehanded device and then use that to focus on it??

I can find the path no problem, but what do you send to it, to focus? What type of call?
Re: Focus device in drum racks...?
When you say focus do you mean so you can see it on the screen? If so then you want device view on the track it's located, i've not got M4L on here to see the call but i remember the section is right near the top of the LOM....

Yes thats exactly what I mean. I have 8 samplers in DrumRack cells. I want to use some buttons on the APC40 to show them on my screen, without having to map to the title bar.

Agggg, I'm loosing my mind with this one. I am either missing something very simple, or it just doesn't work.
Re: Focus device in drum racks...?
The function focus_view works only for general parts of the Live application, ie. not individual devices of a set.

OK maybe I am making it confusing by choosing to say focus.
Basically I want to highlight a device, AND give it the "blue hand," as if I clicked it with the mouse, but without the mouse.

I used "call select_instrument"

Re: Focus device in drum racks...?
I've already tried using "call select_instrument"
It works to highlight the DrumRacks, but not nested samplers, that I can specify.

Ohhh.. you need to be able to highlight individual parameters. Now I'm stumped too.JuanSOLO wrote:I've already tried using "call select_instrument"

Re: Focus device in drum racks...?
I want to "highlight" racks, that are nested in my DrumRack, racks that contain samplers mapped to the 8 macros, of the rack I want to highlight.

Re: Focus device in drum racks...?
I'm still stumped on this and I really want to figure it out.
I can assign the "blue hand" to the Racks in my DrumRack, but I dont know how to SHOW them at the same time, make the blue handed device in view???

Re: Focus device in drum racks...?
You would need a function call like select_device or select_parameter. But it simply doesn't exist.
Maybe it could easily be implemented. Try a feature request..
