hey ableton,
one thing really bugs me almost every week: not beeing able to customize the input/output channel names. 1/2.. 3/4 etc. is just horrible;
as I work with 30+ input channels coming from an aggregated device it would be REALLY cool to have the ability to assign names in the input/output config table, as its really impossible to keep track of all things connected. also the sorting of input channels would be cool, as every interface comes up with a different order, i.e. Motu mixes main i/o, analog i/o, spdif, return tracks etc... just a big mess!!
I know that channel names depend on the connected device, but as you already save the latency/buffer values AND the latest config on active/non-active channels for every interface, you could also give us the possibility to assign names and sort them right, so the routing section would that way be a lot more comprehensive... no?
