When I'm in a VST window, I would like that the keyboard shortcuts like F8 , UP arrow, DOWN arrow, ALT+P , etc. go to the VST !!! and not to Ableton !
( I use a VST that uses lots of keyboard shortcuts )
How to do this?
I'm sure somebody knows how to ...

Alright mate,
Do you not just have to make sure that the VST window is selected with the left mouse button so that it is in focus rather than Live? Forgive me if i'm insulting your intelligence there - I don't use many keyboard shortcuts w/VSTs...
Cheers, Tom.

Doesn't help. Per default Live does not seem to pass function keys to vsts at all, only notes.www.midischool.com wrote:Alright mate,

Look at "EnsureKeyMessagesForPlugins" in Options.txt (see: http://www.ableton.com/de/pages/faq/options_text - down at the bottom). Haven't tried it myself, may still not work with combinations that Live uses as shortcuts itself.

Yes the VST is selected : its window has the focus...Do you not just have to make sure that the VST window is selected with the left mouse button so that it is in focus rather than Live? Forgive me if i'm insulting your intelligence there - I don't use many keyboard shortcuts w/VSTs...
I tried, it seemed a good idea, but it doesn't work... with Halion : the UP and DOWN arrow still don't do anything in the BROSWER view of Halion.Doesn't help. Per default Live does not seem to pass function keys to vsts at all, only notes.

But you're right : it changes something with FM8, thanks a lot
