Specific Names to Midi Ports?

Hi there,

I was wondering, when configuring your midi interface's ports, is it possible to specifically name the ports with the corresponding external instruments that are connected it to it? The equivalent to something like Logic's environment page. For example, right now my midi ports are just listed as the name of the interface and port 1, 2, 3, etc. would it be possible to name these ports with what's hooked up to them and save it? I don't see any option that allows me to modify the Port name, am I just blind? Thanks in advance!
