Custom APC40 Template Wanted For Cash

Post by gordonlindsay » Fri Jun 24, 2011 6:56 am

Hello Abletonions,

I've lurked on this forum for at least a year or so, and I finally sorted myself out and purchased an APC40 a few weeks or so ago.

Surprise surprise, I want to alter some of the standard mappings to better suit how I want to use this light-filled beast!

I've read Tom Cosm's excellent blog. I've downloaded Will Marshall's templates. I've looked at Darren Cowley's & NativeKontrol's videos. I've looked into Bomes, MT Player and even started trying to understand Hanz's scripts as well...

They're all brilliant, and each has elements that I can see myself using...

Long-story short is that all this is great, but I do not have the expertise (or time) to devote to much of this to put together something that fits what I want - christ, not even sure is some of it is possible, even though I think I have quite basic requirements (loop, tempo, rez, band-pass, sends/dummy clips, transpose, 'stab' in track, pretty little boxes to assist camelot/harmonic mixing...).

So...

Building on the resources that are out there, and on the basis that I do not have M4L but could probably purchase a basic NativeKontrol template/MT Player, who out there is willing to make my dream come true and help to customise my own template (with a basic 'how to' in case any elements find themselves being changed/built upon)?

If you think you're able, let me know what you think something like this should be worth/how much you want paying to build it and if there's agreement, I'll explain what I have in mind further.

Or tell me to go fuck myself for taking a lazy shortcut at controllerism greatness!

Cheers,

Gordon

*EDIT: And now have spent last 20 mins mesmerised by Darren's 'Isotonik 7' ARGH!*

:D

Cheers D - think your prog looks great, but not sure if I'm advanced enough/experienced enough to take the plunge in to M4L just yet; be that financial or technical. Given the price though, definitely something to consider, so thanks for that!

re the autonomous follow-ons, is that in-built, or setup for each session/track?

Could I change some of the mappings from what you've put together?

The automatic follow actions work on the first four tracks, its a DJ template essentially, these however can be switched on and off per track though within the GUI for the device...

There aren't neccesarily any mappings, you can change the first two banks of the encoders and you can hot swap any of the effects from within the racks that are on each track, more than happy to give help on doing so....

It uses m4l but in reality the user doesn't need to get into the program as set up and initialisation is automatic...

Hi D,

quick one - I'm trying in amongst my hangovver to build a basic template for the time being...

I want to change the 'tap tempo' nudge buttons to transpose instead. when i go to MIDI map there is no option there to set the behaviour/limits of that element, as opposed to, say the volume limits.

Sorry if I sound retarded, but is this what I'll need Bomes/MT Player etc for?

Cheers

* EDIT just answered the question myself - any ideas on windows-alternatives to Bomes v appreciated - saw something on a forum at work the other day but didn't save the link!*
