is there a fast way of changing trackview in session view?

Post by RD444 » Thu Jun 23, 2011 3:37 pm

is there a fast way of changing the track i am viewing in session view?

sorry for being an odd question

but its a work flow thing

all the FX and goodies are at the bottom, but to change to see that track i have to click the top?

is there a better way to change track i am viewing in the bottom editor.

left and right would be ok like a hotkey?

or am i getting this all wrong

left and right works until i click any fx settings

sorry for the badly worded question :)

You should be able to use keymapping to hotkey your tracks.

You can key map or midi map the 'Track Status' display of each track.

cheers is there a way of arrow left arrow right

i was trying out 2 sounds with a 3 band eq

and every time i was going right to the top and then to the bottom of the screen.

it made me realise that is quite a bit of a distance with the mouse.

i really want to scroll left and right

i found out if i leave a blank slot at the bottom i can activate the track (not always possible i have open the piano roll up a bit) but also if its record enabled its a record button. so i have to click the bottom of the nearest track and go left or right.

i wish there was a way of selecting a track from near the bottom? or a left and right movement option... can i hot key a left and right movement.

Left and right arrow keys move from track to track, as long as one track is already highlighted.
F12 toggles between clip and FX views at the bottom.
Is that not what you're after?

Or I suppose you could map, say, the numerical pad on the keyboard, one number to each track, and that'd be quicker...

cheers guys

its kinda what I'm after

i use shift and TAB to toggle fx and clip (started using that a few days ago)

"i love it when a hotkey plan comes together" as they say

i honestly don't think there is a solution to my problem

left and right arrow is great until you adjust something like FX with the mouse then it doesn't change track.

i might just leave the bottom clip slot empty on clips and select this every time. although i starts REC on record enabled clips (ie ones i might be playing notes with).

i wish there was a shortcut to activate the main clip area? so left and right would work.

i can't have everything i suppose :)
