Hi again,
I already have a M Audio Firewire Solo, but (although it shows up in the config window in Ableton preferences), I can't get it to record anything with a mic attached to the XLR port.
As I mentioned in a recent post, I am a VJ just expanding into laptop DJing/AV since October.
Should I try a re-install or just get one of the other audio interface/soundcards right away? I have some change to spend for one of those 2 by 2, under $200 devices.
Thx in advance for any ideas.
Cheers
How would you rate the M Audio Firewire Solo?

I started out on a Firewire Solo years ago before moving on to the Focusrite Saffire range.
Frankly, I'd give the Firewire Solo shit/10 .

I had a FireWire solo, it sounded alright, but it did what I wanted it to. I think the worst thing about it was the lack of MIDI in/out.
I'd honestly contact M-Audio and see if they can send you a new one. I had a similar issue to my Motu 8pre as soon as I bought it.

M-Audio sucks! Bad drivers and support! Their products is cheap crap! I would never buy anything from them again
