Getting the novation launchpad to work...

Hello. I am trying to use the launchpad with Ableton live 8.2.2...

I have installed the USB drivers on the novation CD ROM.

I have changed the control surface and input/output and midi port settings as suggested in preferences.

I've also bought a powered USB hub (as I thought the issue was no power)and i'm using this.

And it still isn't working, it doesn't light up at all. I am running windows 7 64 bit.

Try this experiment:

Have the powered usb hub, NOT connected to the computer, and plug it into an outlet.
Plug the Launchpad into the hub. Let it sit there for a min. Does it light up at all?
