Hi Everyone,
I was wondering if there's any way to midi map ableton presets? When I press the midi assign button, the presets fold away. An example of why I might need this, is say in a live performance I might want to flick between grian delay presets to give the performance more dynamics. I know I can do it with the mouse, but I would rather have it assined to a controller.
In most software, Reaktor etc, you get snapshots that are midi assignable, with GRM tools you can ever alter how long the transition from one snapshot to another takes. Is there any way I can set up this kind of thing in ableton?
Can you midi map Ableton presets?

1. You can get a lot of powerful features with ClyphX, I believe there are even some snapshot things to play with:

2. With some vst's, you also have the option of Program Change. This isn't so easy though with the LP since it uses Note #'s
3. A shortcut for switching presets in the browser, is having the title bar of an effect highlighted (you can MIDI or KEY assign these), and then hitting the Enter key. I know it isn't MIDI, but it is the closest help I can think of. Some software lets you do key presses as MIDI, or you can just utilize your QWERTY, it would be a waste not to use all those buttons
(as if the LP didn't supply enough, right? haha)

If you put all the patches that you want into a rack then you can select them with the chain selector. You can also set up cross fades between the chain select zones - not quite hte same as a transition but better than nothing.
